BOSTON CALLING
Boston Music Fest
Boston Calling is a yearly music festival hosted in Boston, MA. I was tasked to a create an exclusive screen printed poster meant to be given to artists and management of the festival. I began with four concept sketches, each with their own distinct look and messaging, several referencing the city of Boston’s roots and the festival itself.
The chosen concept was tarot card style poster that had an art nouveau influence. Depicting a demonic skeleton of punk rock, I felt that this imagery complimented the Boston Calling look for the year, as well as the big name punk rock headliners that were scheduled.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the festival had to canceled for the year and these posters were never produced. Although there were discussions to produce a collectible version to be given to attendee’s that asked for their tickets to be refunded.
